Xtreme Xperience
When Lew hits 80 mph in our Lincoln Navigator I fear for my life, so never in a million years did I imagine we'd be behind the wheel of an exotic car going high speeds on a racetrack! Last weekend we got to do just that thanks to Xtreme Xperience. It was SO MUCH FUN. I was really nervous on our way there and had no idea what to expect. Lew has always had a need for speed so he couldn't wait to get behind the wheel.
After we checked in, we sat in on our classroom instruction then headed to the track. We threw on our helmets and started with a ride along with our driving instructor, Mikey. Poor guy had to deal with me screaming like a maniac the entire four laps. I was gripping the door handle so hard that my hands had indents in them from my nails. I was sweating + shaking like a leaf when we got out of the car, but it was such a thrill!!! My heart was beating out of my chest but in the best possible way. I couldn't wait to do it again...but with me as the driver. 🙃
Lewis went first and got to drive a Ferrari 458 Italia. He was cool, calm and collected the entire time. Boy had me wondering if he had done this before! And by the time my turn came I was nervous that I was going to look like a fool, be slower and more cautious than everyone else, or worse yet get in an accident. Lewis sensed my nerves right away and eased my worries. He's my favorite. 💓
I drove the Porshe 911 GT3 and by the second lap thought I was a professional. My instructor Mikey helped me feel confident enough to go as fast as I could and at lap four thought I was Danica Patrick. Isn't she retiring soon? I'm coming for your spot Danica! LOL! When I saw Lewis I told him I hit at least 170 mph on the track. We couldn't wait to watch the playback of our ride.
