Kid-Friendly Fun On Tybee Island

My best friend and I braved the 4-hour drive from Atlanta to Tybee Island with the boys + her 6 month old daughter. I was nervous about how the boys would do, (mostly Leo as he doesn't love being in a car seat for more than 30 minutes) but to our surprise they all handled the road trip like champs.

As soon as we arrived we threw our swimsuits on and ran to the beach. Tybee is just a couple of miles long, but the beach is nice and has a lighthouse the kids enjoyed. We stayed at the cutest condo right on North Beach that we found on Airbnb. It was a quiet part of Tybee Island away from the crowds where the Savannah River meets the Atlantic Ocean—perfect area to watch the dolphins play and the ships come to port.

Seafood is Tybee Island’s specialty so the Crab Shack is a great place to go with the kids. There, they can feed the alligators and see some exotic birds while they wait on their food. The steamed seafood samplers are really good and the restaurant has great views since it’s located right on the water.

We stuck to the beach for the majority of our trip but next time we visit we’ll check out the Tybee Island Marine Science Center and go on a sunset dolphin tour. This trip was a memorable one—relaxing and just what us mamas and babes needed. ♡
